Kathleen started her career in the field Infection Control as an Intern for the St. Louis County Department of Health, Communicable Disease Control Services in 2002 while working on gaining her Masters degree in Public Health with concentrations on Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Kathleen has been working for the prestigious Barnes-Jewish Hospital since 2003. She started as their Patient Safety and Quality Consultant and was responsible for hospital-wide surveillance of clinically significant infections, including antibiotic-resistant organisms; coordination of case-control studies and descriptive analyses for clusters and outbreaks of infections including questionnaire development, data collection, database development and statistical analysis. Kathleen is currently the hospitals Infection Prevention Specialist and also has responsible for the infection control management over the operating rooms & outpatient clinics.
