Description: Loie is an Infection Prevention Specialist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis Missouri. She graduated with RN 25+ years ago, and then received a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership. Loie was certified in Infection Control in 2005. She possesses a varied medical/surgical nursing background including emergency medicine and trauma. Infection Control became her area of specialty in 2003. Loie has authored and co-authored several abstracts for both APIC and SHEA, and has presented at the National APIC conference in San Jose and Denver, as well as at the Bi-State Infectious Disease Conference in St. Louis and at the Little Rock Chapter of APIC Infectious Disease Conference. She is the co-author of a chapter in the 3rd edition of the SHEA text, “Practical Epidemiology in Healthcare.”
