You have 6 months to perform your risk assessment, develop your plan, enhance your policies, train your staff, and COMPLETE your 2 drills. Yes, all must be completed by the deadline.  This 1 hour session will walk you through the requirements, instruct you on how to complete a risk assessment, describe the elements expected in the Emergency Operations Plan, and give you tips on how to complete the 2 required drills.  Additionally you will be provided with forms to complete your risk assessment, your Emergency Operations Plan, as well as templates of policies that can easily be adapted for your facility.

While we await the expected updated interpretive guidelines, compliance is still required. Surveyors are being trained via web based programs. CMS expects surveyors to be able to make assessments starting 11/16/17. And CMS expects you to have completed all the required elements.
