Dr. Jones graduated Cum Laude from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2003, with a Distinction in Research.  During his time there, he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.  He joined the Illinois Eye Surgeons in 2007 after serving as Chief Resident for the Saint Louis University Eye Institute for one year.

Dr. Jones is a high volume cataract surgeon specializing in difficult or advanced cases.  He is one of the leading Premium Lens Implantation surgeons in the country.  His expertise within this technology has earned him the honor of being a national consultant for these lenses and he frequently speaks around the country on the benefits of premium lens implantation.  He was the first to implant the Toric Lens Implant and the ReStor Lens Implant in the Metro East.  Also, he is involved in FDA clinical trials for the next generation of Premium IOLs.

Practicing as a true comprehensive surgeon however, he does more than just remove cataracts.  Dr. Jones performs more eyelid lifting and tightening procedures than any other surgeon in the Metro East.  He also performs glaucoma laser and shunting surgeries, being the first to implant the next generation Mini Shunt in the Metro East in 2008.  Dr. Jones performs bladeless LASIK and Visian ICL implantation for refractive correction.

Dr. Jones performs surgery in Edwardsville, Maryville, Swansea, and Highland, Illinois.  He is on staff at five hospitals in Southern Illinois and has affiliation with nine others.

Dr. Jones is an Assistant Professor at the Saint Louis University Eye Institute, helping to train medical students and residents in the latest techniques for cataract surgery, lid surgery, and refractive surgery.
