Paula Bullock began her career as a medical technologist in Microbiology and then became a clinical instructor in Pathology in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri. She has over twenty years experience in infection control at University of Missouri Health Care (UMHC). Since 2006, Paula has been responsible for over 50 clinics in the UMHC system offering primary and specialty care with almost 400 physicians trained in nearly 70 specialties and subspecialties. The patients range in age from prenatal to elderly. Paula received Certification in Infection Control in 1985. She served two terms as the National Secretary for the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and was appointed to the Certification Board of Infection Control & Epidemiology, Inc. Paula was on the original planning committee for the state course, The Essentials of Infection Control as well as having been a speaker.

Description: This DVD is presented by Paula Bullock, M.Ed, MT(ASCP), CIC and will provide a basic overview about bacteria, viruses, fungii and parasites.  She will discuss what you need to know about identifying them  along with strategic infection prevention strategies relating to these microbes.

The OVERVIEW of Paula’s seminar presentation is about:

*  What is a microbe-host relationship;

*  How to identify each of these organisms;

*  What to do about these each of these organisms
