Nebraska Quality Improvement Organization

Peg Gilbert is a Quality Improvement Advisor for the Nebraska Quality Improvement Organization.  She is leading the Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention project and coordinates the HAI Prevention Advisory Council for Nebraska.  She currently provides training and consultation with facilities on processes to decrease infections, HAI mandatory reporting requirements, and use of the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network database.

Peg Gilbert began her nursing career of over 30 years as a critical care nurse and began a series of health clinics for veterans throughout Nebraska.  In addition, she has served as a supervisor for Outpatient Clinics, Employee Health and the Emergency Room. After serving in various clinical leadership roles and educational development, Peg focused on healthcare quality improvement.  She has led many strategic initiatives in both inpatient and outpatient environments with a passion to improve processes to deliver the highest level of patient care.
